The goal of medication management isn't to change who you are, but to empower you to be more yourself. Meet Our Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
A Provider with Compassion
Heather M. Hughes is an advanced practice nurse who is board-certified as a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner (APRN, PMHNP-BC). She received her master’s degree in nursing from Walden University and her bachelor’s degree from Fortis College of Nursing. She is certified through the American Nursing Credential Center. She has over seventeen years of nursing experience in various medical settings. She has a passion for walking along side individuals who struggle with mental health disorders. Heather enjoys spending her off time with family traveling or playing board games with grandchildren, she also enjoys hiking and camping with her husband. Heather has training in treating patients across the lifespan, providing medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of specialty include management of anger, ADHD/ADD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, geriatric care, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, LGBTQ services, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and seasonal affective disorder. Heather believes in providing an integrative, holistic, culturally competent, patient-centered approach when providing care to her patients. She focuses on partnering with her patients, and uses competent, evidence-based practice and research when developing a treatment plan.
